Heartland to Holyland™ Case Study
vision Delegation
In 2023, Heartland to Holyland™ led a small vision delegation to Israel — a journey that blended professional exploration, faith, and family.
The delegation included an architect, accompanied by his family, as well as Heartland to Holyland’s founder on her first-ever visit to Israel.
Together, we set out to experience Israel not through headlines or itineraries, but through people, places, and shared purpose.
Purpose
Experience Israel’s sacred and modern landscapes through the lens of creativity and connection.
Cultural Immersion: Experience Israel’s sacred and modern landscapes through the lens of creativity and connection.
Creative Collaboration: Bridge Indiana’s storytelling and design strengths with Israel’s architectural and cultural legacy.
Faith and Family: Cultivate shared understanding through reflection, exploration, and intergenerational connection.
JOURNEY HIGHLIGHTS
Jaffa: Where Old Meets New
The delegation began in Jaffa, Israel’s ancient port city where history and creativity converge. Walking its stone alleyways, the group explored local art studios, galleries, and the vibrant Jaffa Flea Market, experiencing the seamless blend of old-world charm and modern innovation.
Tel Aviv: Modern Living on the Mediterranean
The delegation headquarted in Tel Aviv, staying at a boutique hotel along the Mediterranean coast — a perfect base for exploring the city’s walkable streets and lively atmosphere.
The city’s energy felt both modern and relaxed — where beach culture, business, and global innovation naturally intersect. Whether walking along the promenade or sharing a meal overlooking the sea, Tel Aviv reflected the dynamic, forward-looking spirit that connects Israel to the world.
Jerusalem: Where History Breathes
In Jerusalem, the delegation walked the Stations of the Cross through the Old City, visiting the Temple Mount, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Garden Tomb. Each site revealed layers of history, faith, and humanity that transcend borders.
Galilee: Spirit and Stillness
Visits to the Mount of Beatitudes, Capernaum, Tiberias, and the Sea of Galilee offered breathtaking views and spiritual reflection in the landscapes where faith and history converge.
Culinary and Cultural Experiences
From the cafés of Tel Aviv and markets of Jerusalem to the lakeside restaurants of Tiberias, each meal became a moment of connection — stories shared, traditions exchanged, and friendships formed.
Outcomes
Cultural Awareness: Delegates returned with a deeper appreciation for Israel’s richness—its people and innovation — perspectives now informing their professional and personal work.
Cross-Cultural Understanding: Participants strengthened their grasp of Israel’s resilience and dynamism, fostering authentic connections across borders.
Foundation for Future Programs: This inaugural journey laid the groundwork for continued Heartland to Holyland delegations that build enduring partnerships between the Heartland and Israel.
REFLECTIONS
Every step, every encounter, every shared meal reminded us that connection begins with presence. This journey wasn’t just about seeing Israel — it was about feeling it.
